This was a poem that Grandma copied and wrote down:
God is Like
God is like- Bayers Aspirin,
He works wonders.
God is like- Ford,
He’s got a better idea.
God is like- Dial,
He gives you round the clock protection.
God is like- Coke,
He’s the real thing.
God is like- Pan Am,
He makes the going great.
God is like- Scope,
He makes you feel fresh.
God is like- Hallmark Cards,
He cared enough to send the very best.
She lived in Platte City, Missouri, and I believe this was written in the early ‘70’s based on the slogans.
Neat way to preserve and share memories!
ReplyDeleteI wish you could have known your Grandma, she was a wonderful person and she would have loved you so much. She was a talented artist like you are.
ReplyDeleteHer poem made me smile. Thank you Alex.
Love,
Mom
